Camp Curbside

Annual three-night event for our “eager to learn” Curbside Kids. Our theme each year is a Bible Boot Camp, where our attendees are considered “Curbside Cadets” and each volunteer a “Curbside Corporal.” Our Cadets, being a young trainee of Curbside, will learn the fundamentals of becoming a follower of Christ.

Throughout the week, Curbside Cadets will rotate through stations, which include: crafts, games, Cadet Training, and Bible lessons.  Each station is specific, yet repetitive, in bringing home the Bible Bootcamp theme.

We encourage youth groups, small groups, Sunday School classes, College students, ALL, to jump in and help us put on this extremely fun event!

Back 2 School Water Night

Water Night is purely a night of fun and frenzy. Curbside provides water guns, kiddy pools, water games, water balloons, and a MEGA Slip N’ Slide. We grill out for all of our neighbors, and have a messy night of FUN!

Chair 2 Chair Candy Craze

Envision your local church’s “Trunk or Treat”. Spinning off of that idea, Curbside simplifies this by eliminating a car, and replace with a lawn chair and a person. This method ensures our volunteer a face2face opportunity with each child that participates in the candy craze.

Feel free to decorate your lawn chair, or keep it simple. Volunteers are encouraged to wear a kid friendly costume, and bring your own candy/goodie to hand out. (i.e. SpongeBob is always a HIT!!!)

Curbside provides each child with a candy bag. We ask that volunteers are prepared to distribute candy to over 200 kiddos.

Bag of Blessings

Bag of Blessings started as a spin off of Operation Christmas Child. In 2011, while distributing simple Christmas presents, Curbside volunteers began to notice a larger need: shoes.  While standing and waiting to receive their Christmas present, most of the children were barefoot in the cold. This was when we knew Bag of Blessings must grow to more than just presents.

Since 2012, Curbside’s Bag of Blessings has given each person, child and adult, that walks in our door a new pair of shoes, as well as a free toy and household needs.

We partner with several community churches and small groups to receive donations of the toys and household items. We rely FULLY on community involvement for toy donations. While families wait their turn to receive their “Bag of Blessings”, we provide holiday treats and dancing with the DJ! Santa Claus makes a special appearance, and the option to have a photo with him is available.

We need all hands on deck for this event, so join us as we bless our neighbors this Christmas!

Embrace Empathy

The idea of Embrace Empathy evolved from all the division and diversity we, as Curbside, encounter on a weekly basis. Thus, it became obvious to our leadership that we needed to address the negative mindset of our community.

Embrace Empathy is exactly that: we embrace empathy. Through Bible lessons and relational talks, we learn how to put the interest of others over our own interest. Curbside kids and volunteers are able to share WHAT that practically looks like at work, school, and play.

Due to such a huge success of this on the streets over one month of the year, Curbside was asked to partner with a local elementary school to continue sharing this practical way of living each week. Every Monday, Curbside is given a platform to talk about Embracing Empathy at Parker Bennett Curry Elementary School. We spend 5-7 minutes teaching the students how to put others before themselves.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Curbside hosts this “buffet style” Thanksgiving meal to the children and their families in the Parker Bennett community. This is the ONE TIME activity that our volunteers are treated, as well as our Curbside kids and families. The goal is for more intentional fellowship for both parties.

Once more, our goal is to meet them right where they are. Therefore, the atmosphere is casual and comfortable. This celebration itinerary varies from year to year, but you can always expect great food and even better fellowship.

Zoom Online Training

Old and New! We want to meet you! Join us each month as we talk about upcoming events and prepare you for the next season at Curbside.

Zoom Online Training is for YOU! The best way to know how to serve on the streets is to attend this get together. If you or any of your peers are interested in getting involved, this is the START! Come join us as we celebrate all God is doing on the STREETS!

Dance Classes

Our young ladies are being influenced by several experienced dancers in the community including Chaney Robinson and Sarah Nuse!  These fine instructors are sharing Jesus and Jazz and Juju!  Worshiping our Lord has never been more fun!

Weekly Bucket Drumming

Brittany Whitlow is now leading our youngsters in bucket/cardio drumming! She is teaching rhythm and beat along with some body movement! Cardio/Bucket drumming is a great outlet to remove stress, anxiety and keep the body and mind healthy. Miss Brittany, loves to use contemporary gospel/trap music to help with beat and rhythm. This is a passion of hers and she is excited to share it with the kids!

Beyond The Curb

Beyond The Curb (BtC) is our new High School Preparation Program. We all know how hard it can be to navigate life after high school, especially without adequate resources.  We are passionate about giving back to our community and thought what better way than to start this program!  BtC is held every Wednesday during the school year from 4:00-5:30 pm at our Curbside building.  We’d love to have you help us impact the life of these high school students!

Curbside Cup

The Curbside Cup began when one of our own, Bosco, came to the Curbside Team with his vision of this soccer tournament and we decided Curbside would support him any way possible! With the hard work of the Curbside community and SKY Soccer this annual event provides the boys with the opportunity to compete and have some fun.  By the way, if you dont know Jean Bosco, check out our I AM THEM page for his story.

Field Day

Field Day is all about inflatables, food and fun for all of of Curbside kiddos!!  This is an annual summer event held at our Lee Pointe location.  It’s another great opportunity to show love and share the TRUTH of Jesus Christ!
